Johnny and I grew up in San Rafael Meadows in the days when playing hide and seek after dark wasn't scary and not because of the dark, putting pennies on the railroad tracks and eagarly waiting for the train to flatten it and then trying to find the penny after. Playing tag, catch and his Mom, Gerri, teaching me to play the piano. Spending time together just because we were young and no one cared. Walking up to the big oak tree that had bats was forbidden and doing it anyway. Walking to the market via the creek so we could catch polly wags. Those are the wonderful memories that I think of when I think of Johnny. A bashful kid with wild blond hair and a smile that would stop you in your tracks.

I'm sorry we lost contact over the years, now I can not tell you what fond memories you bring to mind. Rest in Peace my friend, until we meet again. Love and Hugs.

I spoke to John's brother Ed and found out that John had a massive stroke while he was at his cabin in Quincy, California. This was his favorite place to be and he had been enjoying the hot springs when it happened last year.
