HOLLOMON, Michael John, passed away on July 2, 2004. Michael was a Ross, CA native, born June 2, 1949. Age 55 years. He is survived by his mother, Ernestine Campbell of Santa Rosa, father, Lawrence (Dorothy) Hollomon of Santa Rosa and his daughter, Terra (Mark) Benson of New Mexico. Michael is also survived by his brother, James (Sherry) Hollomon of Truckee, his sisters, Melinda (Mark) Nichols of Redwood Valley and Lisa (Ken) Robbins of Petaluma, granddaughter Taylor and numerous nieces and nephews. Michael loved water skiing, snow skiing (took up snowboarding in the 50's), surfing and the ocean. Services will be held at Santa Rosa Memorial Park Chapel, Thursday, July 8, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements under the care of SANTA ROSA MEMORIAL PARK AND MORTUARY, 707-542-3154.
Mike is the sister of my dear friend, Melinda Hollomon Nichols. He does not have a senior portrait or a junior class photo but I found one of him in our 1966 yearbook when we were sophomores. RIP Mike.
Mike was the first boy to ask me to a high school dance, when we were freshmen or sophmores. He was very sweet, even though I didn't have the vaguest idea of how to act with a "date". If I remember, it was a barn dance and I hung with my girl friends, just as if I'd come by myself, but he was kind and didn't act offended, even though he may have been. That was a growing experience and I hope I learned something.
