From Nancy Johnson Blazingame about her best friend on her passing:
It is with deep love and a heavy heart to announce that Cecilia Irene Cawley-Redman passed away peacefully at her home in Peatluma surrounded by her her loved ones on the 13th of August, 2025 after a long fight with cancer.
Born on October 6, 1950, Cecilia lived a life filled with warmth, generocity and unwavering loyalty. To know her was to know kindness, laughter and the true meaning of friendship.
Cecilia is survived by her daughter, Isela, and son in law, Erik, her cat, Lupita, her rabbit, Zinnia, and her siblings, Linda, Robert, and his wife, Lisa, Maryann and Susan. She will be remembered not only by family, but the many friends and loved ones whose lives were brightened by her presence.
Sassy was her nickname in school and it aptly fit!

Oh how sad! Ceci (that's what I called her) was so full of life and such a loving, warm-hearted person. She'll be so missed by so many. Sending love and blessings to her family. 💕

So sorry to hear of Sassy's passing. I remember her from 7th grade as the tiniest girl in our grade. What she lacked in height ( she eventually became taller!) she made up in personality. She was energetic, funny, and friendly with a big warm smile for everyone. I didn't know her in later years, but sounds like she remained true to herself throughout her lifetime. May she RIP.

I am so sorry to hear this. She was a friend to me in highschool. I too called her Sassy! Such a fun and loving cute girl. I so enjoyed knowing her. This makes me very sad. My condolences to all her friends and family. Rest in peace, Sassy!

Cecilia was one of my first friends in 7th grade at Vallecito. She was kind, fun and friendly to everyone, which meant everything to me at the time as I was the "new kid" in class. We reconnected about a dozen or more years ago, which was really special. She will be very missed.
