John Collett contacted me to tell me that Paul Carmichael was in touch with him to let him know that their very good friend, Gary Bailey, had passed away on the night of February 9, 2023. Gary, John, Paul, Keith Stirling and Tim Smith were all close friends. Gary, Paul, Keith and Tim began their friendship at John McPhail Elementary School in Santa Venetia. They met John at Santa Venetia Junior High in 7th grade. Paul told me that Gary was nicknamed The Beave". Gary coined Santa Venetia, "Poor Valley". All of us who grew up in the valley fondly refer to it as "Scabo". Paul and Gary stayed in touch almost every month. Rest in peace, Gary. Blair

Very sad to learn of Gary's passing. Truly one of the nicest people ever. I lost track of him some time ago but it never dampened the friendship I had with him. Rest in peace Gary

So sad to hear of Gary's passing.He was my grade school, junior high and high school good friend! Tim Smith, Gary and Ken Dukes... we were a foursome! Gary also played keyboards in our band - Bleaker Street. I lost touch with most of my best old friends from high school and Gary was one of them, but I send my love and condolences to his family.
