Eric, Eric Eric you used to tease me something fierce. I was so hoping you would be at the reunion as I wanted to sit and chat with you again about all the silly times at TLHS pool in Jr High ~ Remember "I have nails?" Rest in Peace.
Vallecito Junior High. Mrs. Hartzell's Class, History, I think. November 22, 1963. Eric was given a hall pass. He's been gone an awfully long time! Suddenly he bursts into the classroom and tells Mrs. Hartzell that President Kennedy has been shot. She tells him that that is a horrible thing to say and to sit down! He insists, repeatedly, that he telling the truth. We are all just sitting there staring at him. She finally has had enough, calls the front office using the phone by the classroom door. The horrible news is confirmed. Shortly thereafter we are all sent home. I do remember Mrs. Hartzell apologizing to Eric for not believing him.
